Harry G. has served for more than 30 years in restricted access areas, and now supervises a large area for his organization. Due to the sensitive nature of his work among Muslims, we cannot disclose the areas where he is currently serving.
He and his wife oversee works in four Islamic countries, train teams and national partners, and provide and create resources for Islamic ministry. Resources they have created include The Message of Hope, an evangelistic chronological Bible study for Muslims, and Heart, Mind, and Soul: Muslims seminars for the American church.
Kenan Plunk has been serving as a missionary with the International Mission Board since 2008. After a year in Costa Rica for language school, he served in two Quechuan towns in the Andes mountains of Peru. In 2012, he moved to Bogotá, Colombia. After four months working with indigenous students at the national university, he began working with the displaced indigenous groups in Bogotá. Many indigenous peoples have moved into the cities to escape due the drug violence. Kenan seeks to reach these people with the Gospel. Some are already believers. Kenan helps to disciple these believers. He also works with existing churches to help reach the indigeous peoples.
Most of Kenan's work involves visiting people in their homes to teach the Bible. One challenge he has faced is a language barrier. Many of the indigenous only speak Spanish at a basic level. Another challenge Kenan faces is the transient nature of the indigenous peoples. Many will move around from place to place, only staying in Bogota for a short period of time. The work is difficult, but by God's grace these challenges can be overcome.
We are the Jobert family and have been serving overseas for the past 20 years in South and Central America and now in Taiwan.
Cindy and I have four children, Caleb and Abby are in college in California, and Cody and Eliana are at home with us. We have been serving here for the past several years training Taiwanese churches in evangelism and discipleship. We have been serving in a local church here discipling believers to join us in ministry. We are ministering on several university campuses, helping churches start outreach ministries, and mentoring young Taiwanese who are called to ministry.
